Editorial scope
There is extensive published research on numerous aspects of entrepreneurship but there is a gap in the availability of inspiring and practical guidance by which every professional, not just entrepreneurs, can use entrepreneurial behaviours in the creation of economic and social value. There is also a need for greater diversity amongst entrepreneurial role models and, therefore, EXPRESS continues to showcase insights about the many applications of the entrepreneurial mindset from a diverse range of international authors. The magazine specialises in showcasing international practice, case studies and strategic insights covering six core pillars:Higher Education Leadership – The articles in this pillar will be of interest to senior leaders of academic units and their colleagues in professional services. The emphasis is on the why and how of transforming traditional higher education institutions into dynamic "entrepreneurial universities" that can rapidly respond to societal changes.Intrapreneurship – The articles will be of value to corporate innovators. Articles position corporate entrepreneurship, or intrapreneurship, as a critical driver for regional competitiveness and long-term organizational survival. Proactive employees are highlighted as crucial agents of internal disruption, strategic renewal, and employee-led innovation within established systemsVenture Scalability – For entrepreneurs and small-business owners, practical case studies detail the hands-on mechanics of transitioning a new startup successfully into a sustainable, regional scale-up. The authors outline critical strategies for analyzing diverse business models, securing funding, and expanding market reach while managing unexpected operational setbacks.Public Sector Innovation – Articles in this pillar showcase how a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset can help to modernise public service delivery, public health networks, and local governments. Mapping the application of entrepreneurial behaviours to complex public frameworks will be interest to Government & Healthcare Transformers.Inclusive Ecosystems – This pillar will be of value to Community Network Builders. Numerous articles explore the roles of traditionally underrepresented groups—including women founders in STEM, refugees seeking local economic independence, regional youth networks, and older populations engaging in "silver entrepreneurship" to combat retirement stereotypes.Learning Innovation – Educators & Corporate L&D Directors will find inspiration in the practical examples of high-impact tools like Ideathons, design sprints, and Mindset Behaviour Analysis tools that allow learners across both academia and business to engage in continuous upskilling and self-reflection. The shift is from passive to action-oriented, experiential learning models.(The Editorial Scope was written by asking Google AI to undertake a semantic analysis of the articles published in Volumes 1 - 9 of the EXPRESS magazine so as to identify the recurring thematic pillars across the publication’s history.)
